Let’s get something straight. I’m not a junkie. I don’t need to feed a habit or break a law to get a thrill. I am, however, adrenaline driven. As a young man I thought the idea of being a first responder in the emergency services would satisfy this need and give me a long term career in a really meaningful role. 10 years down the line, hierarchy, bureaucracy, health and safety and endless paperwork, smothered like a wet blanket the short periods of high adrenaline. I looked up the line and saw my future: joining the bored, alcoholic and divorced officers above me.
It was time to act. I took a period of leave and used this to consider my options and learn some new skills. A friend of mine, Pasha, is an ex-city trader for one of the big Wall Street banks and is now a very successful retail trader who trades for himself and others. I sat beside him for a couple of weeks and when my leave ended, I found my head buzzing with possibilities. I immediately went part-time and started trading for myself. Within a couple of years I’d quit the job completely to trade for myself and because at heart I’m a people person, I started helping and mentoring others.
Trade Room Plus was formed so that Michael and I could share what we’d learnt and help others do what we’d done. I’ve never forgotten my time with Pasha, he had one big advantage over average retail traders – a serious amount of capital. Funded Trading Plus is our way to help others trade like Pasha.
As a data-driven technical solutions architect, there were plenty of well-paid potential jobs but there was no way I was going back to work for someone else. Instead, I started to use my skills to create a new income for myself. My first technical move into trading was when I built a system to take trading signals and automatically place them on a demo account. The system worked, I can’t say the same about the signals.
My trading journey broadened out, I learnt a great deal about crypto and I also took a course with Trade Room Plus and consequently met Simon and Michael. Our skills were complimentary and the idea of Funded Trading Plus was born. Between the three of us we’ve been able to create new funded trading solutions for under funded talented traders. I’ve been able to fully use my technical skills to build solid programs with the most reliable infrastructure in the business. Traders who work with us can be assured that all our systems work and most importantly, they will get paid.
In 2008 the whirlwind of the financial crisis tore through my life. It ripped me up from my more-than-livable income and financial security that I had been building up for 10+ years.
My life savings and financial portfolio were decimated and my house, though not wrecked, might as well have been, for it was now worth less than half of the mortgage that I still owed. Financially I felt like a new born again, life looked grim and I needed to find a solution, one where I’d take personal responsibility of my money, and not leave it to the so-called “experts” who, when I trusted them most, lost it all.
It took more work trying all sorts of strategies, techniques and failing than I’d like to admit, but after staying consistent and finally finding something that works, the result ended up being far beyond anything that I could ever imagine! I now want to give back to the same community that changed my life by accelerating traders with the same drive and determination that I had had. Funded Trading Plus is my way of giving others a real chance to take back control of their financial future. |
