I was 41 years old when I was talked into an unnecessary bladder suspension surgery that resulted in an immediate and profound uterine prolapse.

I refused the hysterectomy I was told was now essential, and spent the next decade trying to understand what had been done to me, and how I could bring my  pelvic organs back where they belonged.

After ten years of struggle, it was clear that solving this problem was going to be my life's work. I spent almost all of the next four years in the medical school library until the pieces of the puzzle scattered over many medical disciplines and even centuries fell into place.

In 2003 I published results of my research in my book Saving the Whole Woman - Natural Alternatives to Surgery for Pelvic Organ Prolapse and Urinary Incontinence, which was highly endorsed by Christiane Northrup MD, Michel Odent MD, and many other doctors, midwives, and physical therapists. I put up my website wholewoman.com  in July of that same year, and began teaching my methods to women of all ages on my online forum.

In a matter of weeks women began writing in, “My symptoms are improving!”

I discovered three things in the years I spent solving the problem of pelvic organ prolapse.

• The medical system is deeply corrupt and dysfunctional
• Medicine has created an almost complete vacuum of knowledge and information about health in our society and a subsequent dependence on doctors, drugs, and surgeries
• I have both a love as well as talent for finding and studying research publications and bringing the knowledge I have acquired to other women, freeing them from the tyranny of the medical system. 

I hold a Bachelors degree in Anthropology from Northern Arizona University, a Bachelors degree in Nursing from the University of New Mexico.

Prior to founding Whole Woman, I worked for three years in the medical system, both on a busy medical/surgical floor where I became charge nurse, and in hospice. So I have experienced first hand the insanity of modern medicine.
