Spiny 2 (kickstarter.com) is a Kickstarter campaign created by Spiny, based in Alicante, Spain. At the time of our review (October 2026) the campaign had raised US$305,461 from 731 backers against a goal of US$8,000.

Our Verdict: A fast way to electrify the bike you already own
Spiny 2 is a practical alternative to buying a new e-bike: it keeps your own bicycle, adds serious power and can be removed when you want to ride unassisted. Keep in mind that it is a crowdfunding project rather than a regular online shop: you pledge for a reward and it ships after production, following the timeline on the campaign page.

What You'll Find at Spiny 2
The Spiny 2 conversion kit. The core reward is the clip-on Spiny 2 drive unit with battery, designed to attach to most standard bicycles without permanent modification, plus a companion app for assist levels and ride data.
Reward tiers and bundles. Spiny 2 offers several pledge levels on Kickstarter, typically an early-bird tier, a standard reward and multi-unit or bundle options, plus optional add-ons. Exact prices and what each tier includes are listed on the campaign page and change as limited tiers sell out.
How backing works. When you back Spiny 2, you pledge for a reward rather than buying from stock. The campaign is all-or-nothing, so you are only charged if it reaches its goal. After the campaign closes, the creator finalises production and ships rewards to backers, usually collecting shipping details through a pledge manager.
