Jelly Zhang, a native of Xiantao, a city in Hubei province known as the “land of fish and rice,” had a childhood dream of traveling around China and savoring its diverse cuisine. However, her studies and work from primary school to university delayed her dream, and the COVID-19 pandemic of the past three years has made it even more challenging for people to travel and personally sample local delicacies. In response to this, she founded an online store that provides a convenient and time-saving platform for selecting a variety of Chinese local specialties.

The online store features more than 30 years of food exploration by Jelly and her friends, including dishes such as Liuzhou snail noodles from Guangxi, Beihai salted duck eggs from Guangxi, Wuhan hot dry noodles from Hubei, Longjing tea from Fujian, Noodle in Nangang village from Henan, Stinky tofu from Changsha in Hunan, Fresh flower cake from Yunnan, Beijing roast duck, and many more.

Jelly Zhang graduated from Wuhan Institute of Technology in 2010. She enjoys traveling, gourmet food, and singing. From 2011 to 2013, she worked as an accountant. In 2014 and 2015, she traveled throughout China, sampling various local cuisines. From 2016 to 2018, she worked as a teacher. Starting in 2018, she self-studied nutrition and worked in the field, before resigning from her job in 2022. She currently serves as the CEO and specialty food procurer at specialtyshoponline.

David Yu received his degree from Guangxi Liuzhou Normal University in 2008. He enjoys indulging in gourmet food, watching movies, and taking long walks. From 2008 to 2012, he worked in workshop production, and from 2013 to 2022, he was involved in foreign trade promotion. In 2022, he is responsible for promoting and operating specialtyshoponline.

Angella graduated from New York University in 2010. She enjoys practicing yoga, indulging in gourmet food, and studying Buddhism. Her father is Chinese, and she has been deeply influenced by Chinese culture. In 2012, while traveling in Guilin, Guangxi, she met Jelly Zhang and they became good friends, keeping in touch ever since. In February 2022, Angella resigned from her job in testing. In March 2022, she began to primarily focus on the testing and certification of specialtyshoponline, as well as expanding the company’s presence in the American market.
